Happy Birthday to my beautiful little sister. We are looking forward to our yearly visit. Hope you had a grand day, beach, bike and friends. Loved Sienna's pictures on the blog. We are going to Santa Cruz next week...with Suzelle. It will be special fun to have Mimi with us this year. Love you Pam...am looking forward to being with our dear friends...I'm sure Maya is reading...its best she keep it a secret for awhile. Sista Shelley.
Happy Birthday Pam. Wow another one of those that keeps creeping up on ya. I'm in denial myself except for the creaks, pops, aches, etc of my body. Gee I just can't wait to arrive and see what's lurking in the "In Basket" for me. High on the list will be shopping at the Kam and cooking. Yeah the stinking rose will permeate for a few weeks. Good for the heart and soul.
Itinerary; Hawaiian Air Flt# HA 0047
Arrives @ 12:05pm

our 8 week peanut
I had my ultrasound today and all is well. We got to see the little peanut with it's huge head. We also got to see it's heart beating at 154 beats per minute. Enzo loved seeing the baby and then proceeded to have a meltdown about how HE wanted to get back in my tummy. I was not sympathetic and didn't even try to comfort him because come on kid you weigh almost 40lbs!
My due date is September 11th. I'm hoping it'll be born sooner because 9/11 is just not a very festive day and because my insurance ends on 9/18 which means that I have be be out of the hospital, safe and sound and uninsured by 9/18.
By the way if you have a method that works to help nausea let me know and I'll name the baby after you. Enzo wants us to name the baby Jesus but we already ruled that one out

Robby turns 40
1. He made that bike trailer from spare parts. It doesn't show it in the picture, but the racks hold his surf board.
2. He loves kids and they love him. I don't remember when Monet started calling him dad, but it was never forced or aqward and I couldn't ask for a better person to be her dad.
3. His happiness doesn't depend on anything monetary. As long as he has the outdoors and his surfboard....I'm pretty sure he's happy as a clam.
4. He's not lazy at all...this is not to be confused with any kind of work or career ambition. He works as hard as he can for as little time as he can so he can play and do the enjoyable things in life.
5. He plays the piano (keyboard that is) almost everyday and gets really excited when he has a new song memorized or figured out.
6. Robby can hang out with anyone. We are friends with all of our neighbors because he is so outgoing.
I feel really lucky to have him in my life.
I guess I could go on and on, but happy birthday to Robby.
PS-we're having the baby on Thursday, 2/5/09, so we'll keep you posted

Monterey Aquarium
Christian is living it up in Tahoe, snowboarding with the YM for the weekend. Enzo and I took a day trip out to Monterey and it was amazing. The Monterey Aquarium is out of this world, especially when you have friends who can lend you guest passes so you can go for free (score!).
My favorite exhibit were the Jelly fish. I was mesmerized with all the colors and movements. It felt like I was watching an underwater ballet.
I've been a pretty uneventful mom these last couple weeks so I really just wanted to go with Enzo's timing. This meant not seeing a lot of grown upish exhibits. He was totally freaked out by the sharks, for example.
This resulted in a lot of time spent at the kiddie areas such as this slide. He was stoked to find this seahorse costume. About a week ago I showed him a picture of an embryo and he was really excited and said "Woah, a seahorse" so today when he found the costume he wanted to wear it the whole time.

We also found a train car and a caboose that we could play in which is an automatic bonus.
