yesterday at our stake christmas concert

I was Mary, Christian was Joseph, Enzo was what you see on top and baby maria was baby Jesus. She did a good job playing baby Jesus except when she didn't want her head to be wrapped. Then baby Jesus had on pink earrings. I just pierced her ears this past week so I couldn't take the earnings off. oops. She LOVED the manger. I almost brought it home. more pictures to come soon.

Birthday boy in his birthday suit in his birthday bath.
I couldn't resist, David just got home from his birthday snowboarding trip with Olivia and Carson. He took a hot bath to help him thaw out. Please join me in wishing him a happy 45th birthday.
Love to all.

Sienna Rose Bell
I am sending out a little birth announcement with this picture, that I took like a week before she got sick, but I thought I would send a little virtual birth announcement to all of our blogging family and friends, because she'll be one by the time I finish sending out the real ones. (I might post some other pictures later if I get a chance). Also, I wanted to thank Pam for using the beautiful name Sienna, and Sienna for making the name beautiful to me. If I don't make sense it's because I am sleep deprived after our four day hospital stay (from her meningitis). Wierd that she got the same thing that I had at the same exact age huh?! She's back to normal now- smiling, and sweet. thank goodness! Anyway, Love you all.

Kid Fun

This is one of those posts that makes you feel like everyone's having more fun than you.
I certainly felt that way when I was taking the pictures.

Since the Demartinis came to visit Amaya will have nothing to do with me. It's Zeke and Gio all day long. Jake calls Gio "Go" because "Gi-O spells 'Go'" and Gio gets bugged. But Gio's 'bugged' is cute enough to keep up the teasing. Zeke is so mellow and the perfect person to play with because he doesn't get mad even when you keep pulling his cape and choking him, as Amaya has found out.

Mikey and Minami are also the best at coming up with games for the little ones to play.

Kaity and Danny also keep up the fun every minute and surf, frisbee, fish, catch squid, hike, look for orange lilikoi, and take care of baby Lilikoi all day long.

The Lane, November 25th

Its been great having Damaris' mom in town. With free babysitting Damaris was able to come down to the lane and film some surfing last week. It was a fun day without too many people out. There's been a lot of fun days lately, and hopefully El Nino will start in earnest now that we're about to start Christmas Break. I've been meaning to take Enzo out but given that it takes about half an hour for me to thaw out after surf sessions I'm not sure he'll be too excited about it. Although after finally getting a full session filmed, I have a few questions. 1) Can it really be that a fairly consistent, hour long surf session turns into two minutes of actual wave riding? (I edited out a few waves but not many) 2) How come everything look so much smaller on tape? I guess I should be consoled in that the contest footage takes a whole day of surfing with the best surfers in the world and shrinks it down to 3 or 4 minutes, albeit a little more exciting 3 or 4 minutes. If any of you that live too far from the ocean see this and decide you need to come to Santa Cruz, there's always space on the futons.

Thanksgiving and 21

Some friends and I roadtripped for 15 hours to the northern most part of Arizona, right by Lake Powell to visit a friend who lives in Coppermine. Her boyfriend took us out boating on the Lake. It was freezing, but great. The water was super glassy and clear. Arizona definitely has its own beauty. We went to a Navajo market and I got some neat jewelery. We went to Monument Valley (where they filmed a lot of old westerns...It made me think of my Grandpa Bill), horseshoe bend, Tuba City (dinosaur tracks). Roni's brothers taught me how to play Navajo 1o. Bad idea - cause I beat them all three times in a row. At least we weren't playing for keeps. Her family made us fry bread and mutton and an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. They even make pomegranate salad! Although they put bananas in theirs, and don't put walnuts, so it's a little different. Even though we've always had it at our Thanksgivings, I can't remember ever trying it. I'm glad I've had it now. Definitely a fan.

On the way home we stopped in Vegas for my birthday. I was trying to look cute and wore my black heels, but I got really bad blisters and my tights were falling down, so the outfit was kind of a bust. We still had fun though. The worst part was getting stuck in "holiday traffic - expect heavy delays to California"....whoops. We were stuck in practically bumper to bumper traffic for about 13 hours from Vegas to the Bay. We all went through short periods of insanity, and played road games for much longer than they should probably be played. Let's just say we kicked that dead horse until our shoes broke.
