gio the smurf
tony took this pic of Gio. he dressed himself in all blue and had even put blue sidewalk chalk on his face to make his face blue, but we didn't get a good pic of his face. here he is with danny's birthday present--a mango wood salad bowl--on his head instead.

Sunday
I'm wishing I was back in Sacramento. Tomorrow I'm doing church solo with Enzo. Chris left today to go to Scout camp for the week. Tomorrow I teach YW. I think we'll go visit Shelly and Steve at the antique fair after church so we can relax a bit.
I'm sad Chris is gone but I have high hopes for the week. On Monday Trisha and family are coming to spend a couple days at our house. Sarah and all 7 kids are coming to spend the week with Shelly and Steve. On Thursday night Eric Hutchinson is doing a concert in Santa Cruz. With so many people around I'm hoping I can find a babysitter.
YAHOO! I am an official member of the Pammy Tie-dying club!

4th of July
I know you're sick of red, white, and blue but bear with me because this was my first 4th of July as a citizen so it was special. Plus being in Sacramento with family made it even more fun. The parade around Mimi's neighborhood was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Thanks Truman for pulling Enzo around.
We started out the morning with yummy pancakes and sausage at Mimi's ward. I love American food. seriously, I do
(enzo took this sweet picture of Mimi)
After the parade Ethan said "why don't you take a nap and I'll watch Enzo." I almost cried. After that Enzo was pretty much taken care of for the rest of the weekend by the Springs. He loved Truman and said "Truman has lots of brothers can I be one of his brothers too?" I think he was hoping that Colleen and Paul wouldn't even notice if he joined the gang.
In the afternoon we went swimming at Andy's. We got to see Liz and Brian's new home and Andy's house in progress.
I have no pictures of the BBQ at Bouchers. I was to busy eating.

Nevada City (a.k.a DeMartini summer camp)
We had a real break. It's hard to even believe but we actually had a mini vacation and it was perfect. On Thursday we went to Shelly and Steve's house. Enzo went nuts every 30 minutes when the train went by. Everyone went swimming and I stayed home watching Michael Jackson specials on T.V. Then we stayed up late playing games and gossiping about everyone we knew. Good times.
On Friday we spend the day at Nevada city. Saturday we had back to back activities in Sacramento. On Sunday we relaxed with the family (including KT, Danny and boys). I took close to 200 pictures. Yes, I will post many many pictures. I'll do it in stages so that I don't bore you too much.
First set of pictures is of Nevada city. Beautiful. I want to swim in that lake every day of my life (as long as it's as hot as it was on Friday). We swam, we jumped in the "jumpoline" (Enzo's vocab.), swam some more and than we crashed Doug's BBQ. Doug actually never showed up but his friends were all there and the food was very good.
(sienna and amy I wish we had a picture of the 4 of us)
(chris doing a back flip off the deck)
Gio getting ready for a front flip off the deck :)
(Enzo wanting to jump off the deck over and over again)
(cute girls)
(even Enos was there and he made some good meat)
Thank you DeMartinis for being such amazing hosts and letting us play with you!!!

Cousin-ish
Jealous, yes?
Even though Austin's probably sad that his family isn't here, we've been enjoying hogging all of Austin's attention for ourselves. He's been coming over for dinner, giving us reasons to cook chocolate and peanut butter together, accompanying us to movies and costco trips, listening to us talk about things we think are funny, hiking all the places I want to hike, and even babysitting.
Austin is pretty much my ideal as a brother (other than my real brother, of course), but I don't think anyone would believe we were related, so I'll just say he's a cousin. Ish. Since Amaya adores him, I guess we can't be totally blood related. Otherwise she might be crushed.
p.s. Here is photographic evidence that Mikey eats, or not. I asked Mikey if he had ever been FULL, and he said, "Ummmm, yes?" Adam asked, "With something that wasn't rice?" Mikey replied: "No."

Fun With Pammy
Today we went to Sand Dollar Beach to meet up with Miriam. Enzo took some cute pictures, including the one above. We love having Pammy around!
HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY AUSTIN

All I can say about Austin is that he's the best. He's an exceptional person - creative, smart, handy, kind - and everyone who knows him loves him. I'm so grateful/lucky/blessed to have him as a friend and brother. Happy Birthday!
