Happy Birthday Mariko!

I really am super bad at this whole blog thing. I don't have any pictures of Mighty to post or really anything that significant to say, but I wanted to post to tell Mighty HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She really is "mighty" in so many ways. She's a great neighbor, teacher, mother, and friend, and she continues to make herself better. She is always learning new recipes, researching politics and other current events, trying new methods, doing new cool things to her blog. She's just great all the way around and today we get to celebrate her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIKO!

The reason the nickname stuck is because you, Mightyko, are a person of substance and power. I particularly like your loyalty to flakes like myself, your penchant for doing things well, (cooking, teaching, writing, whatever you do), the way you share Jake and Amaya and your beautiful self. Happy Birthday. I feel very lucky to have you so close by and as a lifelong friend.

Mariko, Happy Birthday! I have enjoyed getting to know you better in person (trip to town and the lovely Kamehameha School) and through your writing(Jacksonesque). Everything I know of you I like. I hope this day has been great and that you enjoy your celebration. Did you have cake?

happy birthday Mariko! I know we haven't spent all that much time together, but what we have I've enjoyed. I like talking with you because you always have something good, smart or funny to say. And! you gave me that cd for my 18th birthday that introduced me to some of my now favorite songs. so I owe you one. :) I hope you have/had a great day.
