Professor Fashion

So, every once in a while I feel like I shouldn't be wearing my beat up Vans to work in and like I should try to look a little more professorial. Of course, since I shop exclusively second hand, this can be a bit challenging. Anyway, so I googled professor fashion, how to dress like a professor, etc, and ran into some various blogs, advice forums, and this. The professor or hobo quiz. Check it out.
I got 8 out of 10.

I only got six but I guess that makes sense. Also couldn't someone be a professor and hobo.

Christian. When I moved to Maine, I remember you telling me. Oh, just wear a hoodie and leather jacket. You'll be totally warm. (And completely indistinguishable from the hobos). My office was about that cold though. I could've used the fingerless gloves too.

Da- For women, I think the issue is even more fraught, since more professional dress can make them look like the secretaries, who are usually women. Or too fashionable can also be criticized for being too distracting, or something, which men aren't.

In general, though, the foreign language teachers are usually the best dressed faculty, since they're often not American. Since these are my colleagues, it doesn't really help.

I got 6/10.
But I say, if you've spent 8 years of your life getting a degree, you can dress any dang way you please.
Plus you (the royal you) probably have no money anyway, since you blew it all on your education.
