HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN

So today is Austin's birthday. He is 22, which is my new favorite age. I, for one, am so grateful that Austin was born. He's been a real good big brother. One time when we were little, he was 6 and I was 4, he told me that he hated me. He had good reason -- I was following him around the house and being annoying and he wanted to go play at his friend's house and I was complaining because I wanted him to stay and play with me. So he told me that he hated me. I told my dad, and he got busted. When I reminded him of that one time I said "I'm glad we've moved past that" and he said "Yeah, I'm glad you don't tell on me as much anymore."

Not only does Austin have a great sense of humor, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't hate me anymore. He is my best friend. He's great to talk to about anything. When I was at school this past quarter I would call him every time I had some sort of dilemma -- spiritual, with friends, with school, bike accident. He is a good listener, he gives good advice. He's good at building things and fixing things. He's good with babies, like my dad. When we were at Andy and Charlene's house last week, Austin was playing with Liz's son Brodie and when we went to say goodbye, Brodie took Austin's face in his hands, looked at him in the eyes, then brought him in and kissed him (on the mouth.) I'm not sure why I shared that, but I guess it's just an example of how loved and amazing Austin is.

Happy Birthday.

Yay. First comment. Happy happy birthday Austin dear. For some reason I really had to stop myself from writing it with an E. Have I been spelling it wrong this whole time?
I had no idea (well, some idea, because it just exudes from him naturally) how cool and fun Austin was until a few summers ago when I got to hang out with him at Mimi's place. He's a great joker and we have similar taste in humor. He's not afraid of being a kid but is an adult at the same time. There's a sense of calm sincerity in his demeanor, except when he's giggling like mad about some joke, which is tons of fun. I was kind of shocked when he came back from his mission and he looked so ADULT. I admit it kind of freaked me out, like, "You're not allowed to leave and then grow up without us!" I relaxed once I saw him hanging out with Amaya. She loves him, and it's just too bad that she's already got several fiances, and that she's 20 years younger. Although that would probably be a plus for any guy, I know Austin will be happily hitched by then. Maybe he'll have some offspring to marry off, and as long as they have that red hair, I'd be happy.

Happy Birthday Austie!

You are such a cool cousin and I am so happy to have you as family and as one of my good friends! You are so gentle and so funny, and ALL of my friends think you're super handsome, but I'm over-protective and I won't hook you up cuz we ALL want the absolute best for you! Thank you for always being there and making things more humorous and enlightening! I love that you never get angry and that you're always kind to everyone you meet. That's why everyone loves you and all the mommies want their baby girls to marry someone like you :). I am so sad that I can't be there to help celebrate your birthday but I hope it's an awesome one. Love you tons.

Happy birthday, Austin! I was sad we didn't get to see you more when you were in Sacramento. I have noticed that you are compassionate and thus not judgmental. I wanted Christian (Hunt) to know you better, which is why i was hoping you could take him to his music lesson. Thank you. Hope your year is very fabulous!

From Natalie: If you'd like I'll frost your birthday cake for you. (chuckle) Thanks for frosting our cake when you were here. This will be an exciting year for you, I'm sure. School, girls, etc. but not necessarily in that order, though that's probably the best order. Sure glad you came to Sacramento. Happy Birthday to YOU!!

Austin
I haven't spend much time with you but I love you none the less. You are the most polite young man I know. I hope Enzo grows up to be as good mannered as you. Hopefully he'll also have some of your other cool characteristics as well.
Happy Birthday!

I remember being with Austin when he was a teeny tiny baby. I thought for sure he was the cutest baby I had ever seen. I wanted to be around him all the time. Happy Birthday Austin.
