One of those experiences.

I am not a morning person. It's seriously beyond my control. It's almost midnight right now and I have crazy energy. I could deep clean the entire house, could but won't of course. In the morning I experience deep sleep and it is physically very hard for me to get out of bed before 9:00am. Since becoming a mom of a child who sleeps like a baby (wakes up every two hours, cries, screams, wants to eat...) I have had to wake up early. Enzo has been waking up at 6:30 lately. This week the waves were bad and Chris was home every morning to get up with him. Today there were waves and I was left to wake up with Enzo. I went to sleep super late last night and had no energy to get up this morning. When he work up he came in the room saw that his dad was not in bed and freaked. he started crying and asking for "papai". He then left the room and I fell back asleep. I usually totally fall back into deep sleep in the morning but I am convinced that heavenly father helped me today. I suddenly awoke and remembered that Enzo was awake. I realized the house was totally silent and I panicked. I looked downstairs and the door was open. Enzo had escaped and I had completely lost track of time and had no idea how long it had been since he left the house. I ran outside in my garments and started screaming his name. He was nowhere in sight. I ran to the parking lot and he was standing in our parking space calling out for Christian. I was so relieved he was fine and hadn't taken off. Under normal circumstanced I would of continued sleeping for at least another hour and Enzo would of taken off much further. I feel blessed that he was safe.

Whoa that is scary. I'm glad he hadn't wandered too far. I love staying up late too. I bet you really wish you lived in Santa Barbara where the waves always suck so Chris would be home every morning.

This morning when Chris went surfing he put the dead bolt on the front door and left through the back door. It also helped that as soon as I could hear enzo getting up I got out of bed. No more scary episodes. And no more running outside half naked. My poor neighbors.
